Sunflowers, so majestic and so beautiful, the bumblebees buzz around them, for the color I think. This print lights up any corner you put it in, something we soon need as nights begin to draw in.

A collagraph, means that I have on a piece of cardboard, made cuts, removed the first layer of cardboard to create mid tones, cut a bit deeper and removed more of the layers to get the really dark tones, where I want light colors, I have added lacquer so I can clean that area really well, all this is time consuming and not easy to ink up with small things like the bumble bees. When I have done my cutting, the plate needs to be shellaced to protect it. Because of the fragility of the cardboard plate, I get very few prints, I have to ink up for every print I pull, in my mind that makes it more fun for me, it is a very creative way of making prints and you will see more of them in the future.
I have printed 12 prints, and that is it, they all come with small difference one to the other, I hope you will treasure this as part of the handmade process.

The beautiful warm white paper measures 20" x 16" (51 cm x 40 cm )
and the actual printed area measures 14" x 10,5" (36 cm x 27 cm )
The print is striking and can frame large if you wish to make a statement piece.
